Debora is a relative newcomer to Peterborough and came to St. Paul’s in August 2021. She is curious about people — who God has created us to be and the unique place and purpose God has for each and every one of us in his unfolding plan for our world. Debora’s passion is to help people discover their unique talents and how their joy is made complete when we use these in service to God and others. She seeks to make the Bible understandable….and definitely NOT boring! She brings her experience in her previous career in Marketing and Public Relations to craft interesting Sunday messages that bring Bible stories to life and to explain their relevance to our daily lives.
Beyond Sunday, Debora works with our team of elders and volunteers to plan and promote events and projects that meet pressing needs in our community. Whether that’s raising money to help settle refugees, creating employment for those living in poverty, or protecting seniors from scams, our team looks for ways to walk in the way of Jesus, by loving others as ourself.
Douglas started work at St Paul’s in March 2009. In addition to his duties at St Paul’s, Douglas teaches music privately, accompanies local vocal and instrumental soloists and ensembles, and occasionally performs with the Peterborough Symphony Orchestra. Pre-COVID, he was responsible for organizing local Lunchtime Organ Recital Series for Advent and Spring.
When not pursuing music, he enjoys cycling and gardening. As an amateur weaver, he is on the Board of the Artisans Centre Peterborough, promoting historic artisan crafts. There, a guiding principle is the idea that keeping your fingers busy is good for mental health. Doing so in the company of like-minded individuals only increases the benefits.
Joanne started at St. Paul’s joining us as our new Administrator/Bookkeeper in October 2022. In her administrative role she assists our Minister and worship team with the preparation for Sunday morning worship services, posts information to our social media platforms and website, answers inquiries about room rentals and is the friendly face that greets visitors to our office. In her bookkeeping role Joanne fulfills St. Paul’s banking, payroll and financial accounting needs. When not working, she enjoys photography, stamp collecting, time spent with her husband Chris and their pets. She recently took up a new hobby – spoon carving!
